Curb Appeal Will Help You Sell Your Home

You can spend a lot of money fixing up your home. Re-doing your bathroom or kitchen definitely helps your home to be more appealing once people are inside. Remember that many people will do a "drive-by" viewing of your home and make a snap decision as to whether they want to arrange an inside viewing.

Here are some ideas:

  • Mow The Lawn!
    • Sounds easy enough so get it done.
  • Clean Up!
    • Remove your kid's toys, debris, garden tools, leaves, and garbage. Remove dead plants, flowers, and lawn. Remove weeds from your garden.
  • Green Up!
    • Mix in some mushroom manure or add some balanced slow-release fertilizer.
  • Prune Your Trees and Shrubs!
    • You don't want to cover up the front of your home. You want to show it off! Remove limbs that touch the house or roof.
  • Plant Some Colourful Flowers
    • Add some colour with annuals in the area of your front door. Pansies work well when the weather is still cool in the spring, or speak to someone at the garden center for other plants that work at this time of year.
  • Plant a "Focus" Tree or Shrub
    • Try and keep it fairly small but impressive to draw attention to it.
  • Add Solar Powered Lighting
    • Add solar-powered lighting along walkways and spotlight your new Focus-Tree!
  • Add a Decorative Statue or a Couple of Cool Looking Rocks
    • Don't go too ornate looking though. Use a couple of cool looking rocks if you prefer.
  • Pressure Wash
    • Pressure wash walkways, porches, and driveways. (And the outside of your house too if you have a pressure washer at your house!)
  • Add a Water Fountain
    • Small water fountains can be surprisingly affordable, and can add soothing sound.
